Well what a year it’s been. A year like no other. And as we near the end of 2020, here at Ability Superstore we are working hard to ensure that we deliver all our orders as quickly as possible, keeping you updated all the way.
For many of us Christmas shopping is a treat with German style markets, mulled wine and carols. However, this year it is unlikely that this festive shopping spirit will be allowed – hopefully, it will be back to normal next Christmas in 2021.
Of course, Christmas shopping online isn’t the same, however buying online does give you lots of choice and it is conveniently delivered to your door, by couriers who are working to strict social distancing guidelines.
Don’t just make your default online Christmas experience Amazon – why not try smaller independent websites who will go that extra mile? It’s been a tough year for everyone, and smaller independent businesses know that very well. Supporting these businesses will be appreciated by us all!
To help with your Christmas gift list, we have put together a collection of ideal Christmas presents for your friends or family (and maybe a treat or two for you too!)
This year we are delighted to announce that we will be offering a gift wrap service for many of our products. You don’t have to fiddle with Sellotape or cut wrapping paper, just place an order, select ‘gift wrap’ when you place a product in your basket, and we will do the rest of the work for you.
Will we have a white Christmas this year? Will it be a Zoom or Skype Christmas instead? Either way, we have an array of festive gift ideas for everyone, to make life that little bit better in the Winter months.
When it comes to ideas for presents, you can never go wrong with a pair of comfy slippers and our Dunlop range of slippers are sure to be popular on Christmas morning, all the way through till next Summer! The range includes Albert and Arthur for the gents in our life and Bluebell and Betsy for the ladies.
There’s nothing better than snuggling up in bed or on the sofa to watch a Christmas movie, what’s your favourite? We like to watch Muppets Christmas Carol on Christmas Eve and find It’s A Wonderful Life just too stressful!
To help you get all cosy and warm we have some blankets and cushions, including an infrared heated blanket.
To save you from having to keep going in and out of the kitchen for refreshments, take a look at our bamboo lap tray. You can fit snacks, the TV remote, even a bottle of Baileys or the Christmas tipple of your choice!
One of our most popular products in 2020 would also make a splendid Christmas gift! The Uccello Kettle & Tipper keeps the kettle steady and the smooth tipping function means that you can make a perfect brew every time.
If you are making mince pies, the Christmas dinner gravy, or your own mulled wine then squinting at the scales, which are probably dusted in flour, to read the weight can be fiddly and cause eye strain. Which is where the talking scales (complete with a measuring jug) could save the day.
Finding storage space over Christmas time can be tricky, what with extra food in the fridge and cupboards, drinks, presents, wrapping paper, all taking up space in every room of your home.
When your kitchen starts to resemble the middle aisle at Aldi, you can find yourself straining to get to the top of cupboards or shelves.
This bamboo step could be an excellent little assistant in the kitchen for those hard to reach items, or in any room for that matter!
The Homecraft Handi-Reacher Grabber is another useful mobility aid for picking up those objects that are just out of reach. These would be particularly helpful for anyone with limited hand strength.
Of course, this year Christmas is going to be rather different for most of us, at this stage in November most shops are closed and we don’t know yet to what extent we will be able to visit friends and family, if at all.
We will still be able to get outside though, even if it is to do our big Christmas food shop or to go out on Christmas Eve at the last minute to get that one thing that we forget every year (is it sprouts? It’s always sprouts for us).
If we do have a white Christmas or some socially distanced outdoor Christmas Carol services, we need to make sure we wrap up warm and stay safe.
We have a range of rollators and shopping trollies, now, before you skip this bit, forget everything you know about shopping trollies. Those clunky black boxes with a tartan panel are long gone!
For example, these Rollz Flex Shopping Rollators look so stylish and advances in technology mean that these mobility aids move effortlessly even in tight spots in supermarket aisles.
For those that use wheelchairs there are wheelchair fleece leg cosy’s and blankets, water resistant to keep you warm and dry at any time of the day or night.
